MATCH Foundation Welcomes Funders from Germany

In the warm heart of Africa, we say, “a home that welcomes visitors is a blessed home.” And in the month of September, we felt the warmth of this ancient wisdom as it was graced by the presence of friends and funders from Germany.

On the 14th of September, with a lot of excitement we welcomed our dearest friends Urs and Fabian who were visiting for the third and 1st time respectively. Their visit was a whirlwind of joy and lots of learning from each other. They spent time with our student-athletes at Tadala abc Primary School and Bingu National Stadium, sharing laughter and stories while generously donating sports and school supplies. Their enthusiasm extended beyond the classroom and tennis courts, as they joined on a home visit to one of the MATCH Foundation’s athletes to better understand where the majority of the beneficiaries come from creating unforgettable memories with them and lending a helping hand wherever needed during their 8 days visit.

On 24th September we welcome Elisabeth Maasjost and Tim from the Malawi-Germany Association based in Germany who were also visiting the country for other projects. The two had heard remarkable things about the foundation and took time from their busy schedule to join us for a tour both at the Bingu National Stadium and the Tadala abc Primary School. This was a great networking opportunity for our team.

On the 26th of September, Michael Bargl and Susanne Crecelius arrived, eager to celebrate the Tadala abc Primary’s first anniversary. The two were representing the International Rotary through the Rotary Club of Aschaffenburg, Germany who are the main funders of our school’s project. Their visit was timely as they also participated in the inaugural charity tennis tournament, the Lilongwe Open held at Tadala abc Primary School. Their presence served as a testament to the enduring bond between MATCH Foundation and its international supporters.

MATCH Foundation is incredibly grateful for the commitment by the Rotary International to support the programs for 1 more year and help the foundation to create lasting impact. This shared belief in the power of education and sports can indeed bridge continents and create a lasting legacy of hope.
