Early Graders Shine in End of Term 2 Performance

MATCH Foundation held an awards ceremony at Tadala abc Primary School to recognize students in Standards 1 and 2 who enrolled in the after-school reading program. This event aimed to showcase the program’s positive influence on the school’s students. Overall, the level of performance in all subjects for these 2 classes has improved tremendously and this has been attributed as a result of the reading program. Recognizing these students’ achievements emphasized the value of education and the school’s commitment to setting all its students up for future accomplishment. Special recognition went to the best readers in standards a and 2, most improved readers as well as the most active and consistent students.

The ceremony was also spiced up with the Youth Parliament session where standard 6 students role-played as members of parliament. The students debated important educational issues, such as how to balance chores and market work with school attendance. This session gave them a platform to voice their concerns and engage in dialogue about their learning environment.
