Our Founder's Story
MATCH Foundation is a youth-led, locally registered NGO based in Lilongwe, Malawi. It was
founded by former Malawi ladies tennis champion Tadala Kandulu Ngosi, whose lived experience
of limited education infrastructure and scarce sports opportunities inspired her to create change.
Tadala represented Malawi at continental and global competitions, becoming the country’s first
player to win an International Tennis Federation medal and the youngest Malawi Open tennis
champion. In 2015, she earned an NCAA scholarship where she studied Economics and played for
the Southern Wesleyan University in the United States, where she became the first Malawian to win
a regional all-sport championship.
While in college, Tadala embarked on a sports equipment donation drive to support Malawian
children and youth with great support from her German-based classmate. Motivated by her
exposure to world-class education and sports systems, Tadala founded MATCH Foundation in 2020
to expand access to quality education, sports development, and holistic “whole child” support—
especially in rural and under-served communities. Since then, MATCH has grown to serve five
districts across Malawi, remaining community-driven and youth-centered at its core.
