The sound of sewing machines filled the room as women carefully stitched colorful fabrics into bags, purses, and other handmade products. Laughter drifted between workstations. At first glance, it looked like any thriving workshop. But behind every finished product was a story of resilience, courage, and a second chance.
As they all say, learning does not end. At MATCH Foundation, that is one of our key values; to learn from others. On 28 May 2026, our team stepped into Zayane Creations Trust, eager to learn as we draw closer to launching our new skills center at Tadala abc Primary School, a project designed to equip young people with 21st-century skills that can unlock new opportunities and inspire innovative solutions to community challenges.
As the team moved through the facility, they listened to stories of transformation. Stories of women who once felt trapped by their circumstances but are now creating opportunities for themselves and their families. The lessons from Zayane Creations offered valuable insight into what meaningful skills development looks like in practice. Beyond technical training, the experience highlighted the importance of creating safe, inclusive spaces where individuals can learn, grow, and believe in their potential.
Perhaps the most exciting outcome of the visit was the conversation about what comes next. As both organizations explored areas of collaboration, a shared vision emerged; one where vulnerable women and young people are empowered with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive.
By joining strengths, MATCH Foundation and Zayane Creations have the potential to create lasting change, proving that when organizations come together around a common purpose, empowerment becomes more than an idea, it becomes a reality that transforms lives and strengthens communities.
