
The 2024 National Youth Summit, a gathering of over 500 passionate young minds, embodied the saying, “the future belongs to those who prepare for it today.” This inspiring event ignited a fire within the nation’s youth, motivating them to dream big and take action.
The summit was graced by several high-ranking government officials, including the Ministers of Youth and Sports, Hon. Uchizi Mkandawire, Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Monica Changanamuno, Minister of Mining, Hon. Vera Kamtukule, Minister of Tourism, Hon. Sam Dalitso Kawale MP, Minister of Agriculture as well as key representatives from development partners such as UN.
MATCH Foundation’s Executive Director Tadala Ngosi, featured panel discussions addressing critical educational challenges such as quality, accessibility, and curriculum relevance. Engaging delegates in dynamic dialogue. The 2024 National Youth Summit served as a catalyst for positive change, empowering youth to connect, learn, and inspire one another. This event highlighted the potential of Malawi’s youth to shape the nation’s future. As Malawi progresses, it is evident that the youth are driving positive change and building a brighter tomorrow.
The event ended in an awards ceremony honouring nine exceptional young leaders. Recipients, representing diverse domains including science, technology, ecology, and entrepreneurship, each received a one-million-Kwacha prize. A notable highlight was Tadala Ngosi’s recognition as the Most Outstanding Youth Leader in the Sports Category, reflecting the organization’s dedication to youth empowerment through sports and education.
